Tazewell esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: TO ALL TO WHOM these Presents shall come, GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a Survey, made on the 19th day of March 1884 by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrants No. 10530 & 10965 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Samuel Via A certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing eighty five acres situate in Franklin County on Shooting Creek, Beginning on a sycamore, on said Creek, thence up the same as it meanders 156 poles to a gum on the south bank of the Creek, thence off S 45 W 100 poles to a spanish oak So 56 E 9 poles to a hickory So 3 W 44 poles to an elm on a branch and down the same as it meanders 68 poles to a Maple So 77 E 86 poles to a hickory N 44 E 30 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Samuel Via and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Littn W. Tazewell esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be Affixed, at Richmond, on the 20th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five and of the Commonwealth the 60th.
