Walker/Claytor Deed, 1866 This deed made and entered into the six day of October One thousand eight Hundred and sixty six between George Walker of the First part and Walker Claytor of the second part all of the County of Franklin and State of Virginia WItnesseth the said George Walker doth this day Convey by deed to the said Walker Claytor the land that the said George Walker purchased of Thomas D. Jones contained 104 acres more or less also the lands bought to Thomas Williams containing one huundred and fifty acres more or less also all the land willed to the said George Walker by his father containing four hundred and eighty four acres more or less for which the Said Walker binds himself to pay to the said George Walker one hundred dollars per year during his natural life for his support all of said lands lying and being in the County of Franklin the title of said lands the said George Walker doth forever warrant and defend for himself and all others claiming under him to the said Walker Claytor and his heirs. Given under my hand and seal the day above written above. George Walker Seal State of Virginia Franklin County to wit Jm Jones and Jacob Thirley Justices of the Said County do hereby certify that George Walker a party to a certain writing bearing this date the 6 day of October and hereunto personally appears before us in our said County and Acknowledged the said writing to be his act and deed and desires us to certify the same to the County Clerk of Said County the Same may be admitted to Records. Given under our hands this 7 day of October 1866 J M Jones Jacob Thirley in the Clerks Office of Franklin County Court the 15 day of October 1866 This deed from George Walker to Walker Claytor was exhibited into he said office and together with he certificate herein endorsed admitted to Records Revenue Stamps on deed as prescribed by law teste R.
