George Walker Deed, 1831 Know all men by these presents that I JOEL WALKER of the County of Franklin and state of Virginia for and in Consideration for the natural love and Affection that I bear to my son GEORGE WALKER of said County and State as well as for the further consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained and sold and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant and bargain and sell unto he said GEORGE WALKER his heirs, executors administrators and assigns forever one certain tractor parcel of land lying and being in the county of Franklin and state aforesaid on the Waters of Little Otter and Nicholas Creek being the same tract of Land conveyed to me by BAILEY CARTER, NANCY CARTER and John CARTER and bounded as follows, To Wit, Beginning at a Red oak st the head id a branch thence South 66 W 65 poles to a Spanish oakW 148 poles to a persimmon tree E 40 N48 poles to a locust E 62 S 20 poles to a locust E 60 N57 poles to a mahagony on a branch thence down the same as it meanders to the mouth to a cornbeam on Otter Creek thence up the same as it meanders to a White oak thence W 16 S44 poles to a beach on a branch N17 E 183 poles to a red oak E 299 poles to a chestnut in SAMEUL HIGGS line thence with it S10 degrees 35 poles to a chestnut tree E 70 N 50 poles to a chestnut W 10 N 82 poles to a white oak in PETER SAUNDERS line thence with it S 65 26 W poles to the beginning together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the the said GEORGE WALKER his heirs assigns forever, and the said JOEL WALKER for himself , his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said GEORGE WALKER his heirs and assigns that he will warrant and forever defend the said granted land and premises unto the said GEORGE WALKER his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of himself his heirs executors and administrators and against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 12 day of December in the year of our Lord 1831. WEBB and CREED T. WEBB two of the subcribing witnesses . And at the said clerk's office the 8 the day of May 1832 This deed was further porved by the oath of HARVEY CLAYTOR another subscribing witness and admitted to record.
