Ferguson/Hill Marriage Bond, 1790 - Franklin Co. VA


Know all Men by these Presents that we John Ferguson and George Ferguson are held and firmly 
bound unto Beverly Randolph Esq. Governor or Chief Magestrate of the State of Virginia in the 
sum of Fifty pounds, to be paid unto the said Beverly Randolph or his Successor we bind 
ourselves and each of us Our and each of Our Heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly & 
Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with Our Seals & Dated this 21st day of January 1790 

The Condition of the Above obligation is Such that whereas there is a Marriage Shortly __ to 
had and Salomized between the Above bound John Ferguson and Mary Hill now if there shall be no 
Lawfull Cause to Obstruct Said marriage then this Obligation to be Void else to remain in force
