FAIRVIEW CEMETERY (Fairview Lutheran Chirch - 1854) in Gore, VA....just 1/2 mile across the WV border off of Rt. 50 on State Route 733 (Fairview Rd). This graveyard is well-maintained and contians approximately 200-275 graves including Parke, Pugh, Haines, Hiett, Wolford, Cooper, and many other families from the Capon Bridge, WV area. Review of book "Park Family: Pioneers of West NJ with Later Generations who Pioneered in Old Frederick Co., VA and on into Ohio and Indiana" by Dorothy Becker (1979) reveals that Sam Park ("Mister Sam", Grandson to Col George Park and Great Grandson of John III) is buried in FAIRVIEW CEMETERY in Gore, VA just across the WV state line east of Capon Bridge. Becker reported that Sam Park is buried there with 3 of his siblings (John H. Park, Susan Park and Hannah Park). Older two siblings, George B. Parke (1866-1890) m. Ida Mae Thompson and William L. Parke born in 1867 (total of 6 kids born to William Park and Susan Brill) are buried elsewhere. Acting on this information, I indeed found these four graves at Fairview Lutheran Church (founded 1854) on FAIRVIEW RD. (Rt. 733) which is a left turn when headed east approximately ½ mile across the VA state line on Rt. 50. The 4 graves, marked with in-ground bronze plates, are at the foot of a "Park" memorial stone toward the right side of the graveyard (east) near the fence when entering from Fairview Road near behind the church building. Timber Ridge and North Mountains can be seen in the distance. Certainly these Park relatives have the best view of all in this cemetery! According to Becker, these siblings were all single and lived together (coincides with what Ivan Park stated about a John Park he knew in the 1920s who lived with another man and 2 women in Parke Valley behind the Lovett Place (It is of interest to note, that Sam and Susan's graves are incorrectly marked with a "Father" and "Mother" plate above each; their father and mother's graves can be found in the Parke Valley Cemetery just outside of Capon Bridge on Rt. 50. Grave inscriptions as follows: John H. Parke 1877-1937 Susan A. Parke 1871-1948 Samuel W. Parke 1874-1957 * Not 1875 as reported in Percival Park's book "Park Origins" Hannah L.
