June 1st, 1809. Then by virtue of a Land office treasury warrant (No. 4378) dated the 9th of Decr. 1806 as afsd. of Wm CASTLE Junior ^ ass'ee of William NOLAND, ass'ee of Nathan YOUNG, who was assee. of Elisha BOYD, and an entry made thereon Decr. 6th. 1808, there was surveyed for John CLARKE a certain piece, parcel or tract of waste and ungranted land adjoining and lying between his own land and the land mortgaged by Jas. McDONALD to Josiah THOMPSON on the drains of Opeckon in ~~~~~ Frederick County and is bounded as follows viz ~~~~~~~~~~ Beginning at a locust post in CLARKS line at the foot of a hill near the lower end of a small median thence with said line S 85 1/2 W 75.7 poles to a stake in the midst of pine bushes at a pitt occasioned by fallen trees supposed to have been an original corner to CLARKS land, thence with the same N 4 d. W, 14 poles to a white oak stump corner to CLARK, MAUK, and the said mortgd. land, thence running with the latter S 84 1/2 E, 77 poles the beginning, containing three acres one rood & 11 square poles. ---- Wm.
