Hodgson) The Right Honourable Thomas Lord Fairfax Baron of Cameron in that part of Great Britain called Scotland Proprietor of the Northern Neck of Virginia to all to whom this present Writing shall come ______ Greeting. Know Ye that for good causes for and in consideration of the Composition so he paid and for the annual Rent hereafter reserved I have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for me my Heirs and assigns do give grant and confirm unto John Huddle of the County of Frederick a certain tract of waste and ungranted Land on a branch of Tom's Brook and joining on Wolrick Stoner and Mary Sittle bounded also as by a Survey thereof was by Wm John Baylis as followeth Beginning at awhite Oak and hence in the line of Mary Little near a road thence N 40 degrees Two hundred and fifty Poles to three white Oaks in a small valley, thence S 20 degrees Two hundred and ten Poles to a white Oak and two locusts on a hill thence S 42 degrees W Two hundred and Seventy poles to a double Mulberry saplin and spanish Oak on Tom's Brooke, thence up the severall courses of the said Brooke with Wolrick Stoner's line N 3 degrees V. Twenty eight poles N 27 degrees W Forty poles to a black Walnut and white Oak at the Mouth of Huddle's spring Branch Thence up the several courses of the Branch N 2 degrees W Twenty poles N 30 degrees E Ten poles to two white Palms and Mulberry on the said Branch thence leaving the said Branch and Cunnin with Wolrick Stoner's Line N 40 degrees W Eighty two poles to a Locust and small hill in a thicket one of Stoners corners thence with another of his Lines 52 degrees W Eight Poles to a hill coner to Mary Hill and Beginning corner to Stoner, thence with the said Littles Line N 20 degrees W Forty seven Poles bothe Beginning Containing three hundred and Forty one acres, Together with all lights members and Apppurte- nances thereunto belonging Royal Mines Excepted and a full third part of all Land copper Tin Coals Iron Mines and Iron Ore that shall be found thereon To have and to hold the said Three hundred and Forty one acres of Land Together with all lights Profits and Benefits to it same belonging or in any wise appertaining Except before Excepted To him the said John Huddle his Heirs and Assigns for Ever He the said John Huddle his Heirs and assigns therefore ____ing and Paying So Many Heirs or Assigns or to my certain Attorney or attorneys agent or agents or to the certain Attorney or attorneys of my Heirs or Assigns Proprietors of the said Northern Neck Yearly and every ____ on the Feast Day of St Michael the Archangel the Fee of One Shilling Sterling Money for every Fifty Acres of Land hereby granted and as proportionably for a Greater or Lesser Quantity: Provided that if the said John Huddle his Heirs and assigns shall not Pay that before us owe annual Rent hereafter reserved I any part thereof show ____ or unpaid by the space of Two whole Years after the same shall become Due if Lawfully demanded.
