All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 August 19, 2025, 5:01 pm Written: January 30, 1743 Recorded: February 1743 Frederick County, VA Deed Book 1, pp 31-32 This Indenture made the thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred forty three Between John Littler of Opechon [Opequon] in the County of Frederick and Colony of Virginia of the one part and Thomas Rees of the same place (Husbandman) of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Little for and in Consideration of the sum of five shillings Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Rees at or before the sealing & Delivery of these presents the Receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Thomas Rees all the motely & undivided half part of a certain Tract or parcel of Land situate in Opechon aforesaid Granted by patent bearing date the twelfth day of November thousand seven hundred and thirty five unto the said John Littler his heirs & assigns containing in the whole four hundred & forty eight acres Beginning at a white oak near the head of the Yorkshiremans Branch which runs into Opechon running thence North 65 Degrees E 33 poles to a Locust thence South 55 E 140 poles to an Elm at the head of the Meadow thence N 53 E 216 poles to a white oak thence N 16 W 14 poles to a Spanish Oak upon Rocks thence N 38 W 120 poles to a Spanish Oak near the foot of a Hill thence S 85 W 184 poles to two white oak saplins (sic) thence N 30 E 28 poles to a Hiccory & Spanish Oak thence N 60 W 118 poles to a white oak thence S 30 W to a large white oak thence S 60 E 62 poles to a large Red Oak thence S 30 W 90 poles to Giles Chapmans line, thence along his line S 65 E 115 poles to the Beginning And all Houses Buildings ways waters profits commodities Herediments & appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises hereby Granted or any part thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion, remainder, remainders rents Issues & profits thereof To Have and to Hold the said granted bargained Land & all & singular other the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Rees his Exrs Admr & assigns from the day before the date hereof for & during the full Tern & Time of one whole year from thence next ensuing fully to be compleat and Ended Yielding paying therefore the Rent of one Ear of Indian Corn on Lady day next of the same be Lawfully Demanded.
