Reg. in the 11th Virginia Regiment and that he received a wound in the right arm at the Battle of Brandywine in condsequence of which he was discharged from the service, that he is now living in this County and appears to be so disabled by the said wound and appears to be about 38 years old and it is ordered that Capt. Cornelius Baldwin do examine and certify the present situation of the said wounds. A Copy Teste: Jas. Heath, Ed Carr I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that John Casey, about 37years of age, late a private in the 11th Virginia Regiment appears to have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of the United States as to entitle him to the sum of twelve pounds yearly, which allowance is accordingly made him to commence from the 1st day of January 1786. Given under my hand as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, , this 4th day of June 1786. Signed: P. Henry Winchester June 1786 In pursuance of an order of the County Court of Frederick, dated June '86, I have carefully examined the wounds of John Casey and do certify that it appears he has received a wound by musket ball about the middle of the upper part of his right arm, that the bone has been much fractured and is very unequally united the muscle is very much contracted of his arm almost entirely depriving of its natural powers.
