He was then 62 years of age and was therefore born in 1765. He enlisted near Winchester, Virginia, in May, 1781, as a Dragoon in the troop of Captain Arnold Vaughluson in the Virginia Line. He served until May, 1783, when he was discharged. He was a native of Fredecick [sic] County. He moved to Pennsylvania after the death of his first wife. He returned to Frederick County, Where he died October 20, 1838. He married again while living in Frederick County.
