JOHN COLBERT
Of Virginia

    John Colbert (Calvert of Colvert) applied for revolutionary pension while
living in Frederick County, Virginia, in October, 1827. He was then 62 years of
age and was therefore born in 1765. He enlisted near Winchester, Virginia, in
May, 1781, as a Dragoon in the troop of Captain Arnold Vaughluson in the
Virginia Line. He served until May, 1783, when he was discharged. He was a
native of Fredecick [sic] County. He moved to Pennsylvania after the death of
his first wife. He returned to Frederick County, Where he died October 20, 1838.
He married again while living in Frederick County.
