Taylor - - HOME IN WINCHESTER VA SINCE 1857, Winchester Va., July 25 - Mrs. Betty Taylor Dandridge, dau of Zachary Taylor, twelfth President of the United States, died at her home on North Braddock street, this city at 5:45 pm following a lingering illness. Her death was from a sudden heart attack. Mrs. Dandridge was ... born at what is now Fort Snelling, on the Mississippi River, in Minnesota, on April 20, 1824. She was the third daughter of President Taylor...mother was Margaret Mackall Smith of Maryland. Her first husband was Col. William Wallace Bliss she married in 1848... Col. Bliss died near New Orleans on Aug 5, 1853 from yellow fever... after the death of Col. Bliss she married Philip Pendleton Dandridge and came to Winchester to live in 1857. Her second husband died in 1882. No childs were born of either marriage.
