FREDERICK COUNTY, VIRGINIA - WILL OF JOHN FANGHAUSER, 1760 Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jane H odgson hodgson@ azstarnet.com In the Name of God Amen I JOHN FANGHAUSER in the Court of Frederick and Colony of Virginia being weak of Body but sound of memory before be God : I do this 1st Day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty make and Publish this my Last Will and Testament in Manner following I Recommend my Body and Soul into the Mercyfull Hand of God I give to my Dear Wife Barbary the Right to Live on my Plantation (now Dwelling on) to make use of as her own untill the least of my relic Children are Come to Lawful Age Brought up in a good Christian Manner Others neither Executors my oldest son shall have anything to say to her by way of Comanding & having the Plantation that she may have a Quiet living on it with my least Children as long as She doth Continue as a widow but if the Children shoul forget their Parental Duteys in not helping and up holding her so that she Cannot maintain herself with the Least Children as it ought to be that my said Wife Barbary will be Obliged to marry then she still shall have the Right of the third Part of the Land as well as the & of the other mobilities to do with it as above & to her and the Children left.
