Payne Wife of Smith Payne Died May 6, 1851 In the 70th year of her age In Memory of Polly Bane wife of John Bane Born Feb. 22, 1790 Died Sept. 10, 1860 Madison A. Son of Tobias & Betsy Miller Born Nov. 10, 1839 And was drowned June 6th, 1859 Sacred to the Memory of Maria E. Miller Born 26th Oct. 1836 Departed this life June 23, 1846 Aged 12 years 8 mos. 2 da. Sleep our dear daughter and take thy rest. God called thee home He thought best Thy memory’s Dear thy presence pain To us who mourns for thee This tribute of affection was erected To her memory by the parents. T. and B. Miller Sacred to the Memory of James M. Son of Madison and Maria Allen Born 30th January 1834 & Departed this life November 1836 Beneath this tomb an infant lies. To earth whose body lent Hereafter shall more glorious rise But not more innocent. When the Archangel trump shall blow And souls to bodies join What crowds will wish their lives below Had been as short as thine. This tribute of affection was Erected to his memory by his parents. Born Dec. 1857 Died Sept. 30, 1862 (One large mountain rock was used as a headstone for these three graves.) Sacred Memory of M. H. Bane F. James & Elizabeth Bane S.F. 27 December 1722 21, July 1842 2 re, 6 mo, 21 day Sacred to the Memory of Sarah Youngest daughter of Christian and Mary Snidow And consort of William H. Bane Born 9th June 1802 & Departed this life 10th December 1845 She was distinguished for a kind and generous heart, a good sense and untiring devotion to her friends An unceasing affection for her Husband and little ones and tho gone And cut off in the p rime of her Usefulness will long be remembered by those who knew her to be an ornament of society, a faithful member of the Presbyterian church this tribute of conjugal affection was erected to her memory by her bereaved Husband Sacred to the Memory of An Infant Son of William & Sarah Bane Born 9th December 1845 Departed this life on the 14th Following.
