White Cemetery Location: 3 miles from Pearisburg, Virginia, on Route #100, then 4 miles on Route #665 to north of road. Giles County DATE: About 1818 (house) OWNERS: Billy Wilburn. His children were: Howard, Boston, Allen, Priscilla. Howard was the only one of the children that married and he and his family were the next to own the place. It now belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stringer. (1937) HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The only thing of historiical interest is that during the war soldiers came here to enlist in the war. Boston Wilburn wouldn’t go, but hid in a big cave in Long Hollow and lived mostly on wild parsnips until war broke. This cave is now called Boston Cave.
