GILES COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - John Pauley et al to Henry Harman, 27 Jan 1829 ----¤¤¤---- P. 559 From John Pauley et al to Henry Harman dated 27 January, 1829 This indenture made the 27th January, 1829 between Isaac Pauley and John Pauley and Polly his wife of the county of Wythe and Tazewell of the one part and Henry Harman of Wythe County of the other part. Witnesseth that for the consideration of three hundred and ten dollars to the said Isaac Pauley & John Pauley and Polly his wife in hand paid by the said Henry Harman and the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold unto the said Henry Harman his heirs & assigns all their rights, title, and interest to the land that Thomas Pauley deeded to them whereon he now lives lying and being in the county of Giles on Walkers Creek joining the lands of Daniel Harman, Adam Harman, Jacob Nisevonder and others together with all appurtenances there unto belonging the said Isaac Pauley & John Pauley and Polly his wife and their heirs to the said Henry Harman, his hires and assigns. In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands and seal the above date. Isaac Pauley John Pauley (his mark) Polly Pauley (her mark) Wythe County to wit: We, Adam Harman and John Grayson, Justices of the Peace in the county aforesaid in the state of Virginia, do hereby certify that Isaac Pauley and John Pauley, parties to a certain deed bearing date on the twenty seventh day of January, eighteen hundred and twenty nine who hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgment to the clerk of the county court of Giles in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under our hand and seals the 27th day of January, 1829. Adam Harman John Grayson Wythe County to wit: Mr Adam Harman & John Grayson Justices of the Peace in the county aforesaid in the state of Virginia do hereby certify that Polly Pauley the wife of John Pauley parties to a certain deed bearing date of the twenty seventh day of January eighteen hundred and twenty nine and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and being examined by us privily and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her, she the said Polly Pauley acknowledges the same to be her act and deed and declared that she has willingly signed, sealed and delivered the same and that she wishes not to retract it.
