Witnesseth that the said Anderson & Priscilla his wife for & in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth grant unto the said William Tiller senr. in fee a certain lot or parcel of land lying in the sd County of Mercer & in the Valley of East river mountain containing 400 acres & bounded as follows to wit. Beginning where John McClaughertys line crosses the branch where Elias Stewart now lives thence up said branch & with Ira Tiller lines to the top of the said mountain thence west with said Mountain to where a line tops said Mountain which is known as the Decree line thence with said line to John Hills line near the mouth of said Hills line thence a North west course with said Hills line to a corner of the Stewart survey below said John Hills thence a North east course to the top of a Pine ridge & with the top of said Pine ridge to the mouth of said John Hills spring branch & to intersect with said John McClaughertys lines & with said lines to the beginning the same being part of a survey known as the Pallard survey & which was purchased by the said Anderson Tiller of Cornelius Cooper which will appear by reference to a deed from the said Cooper to the said Anderson Tiller bearing the---day of ---- & on record in the Clerks Office of the County Court of Mercer County. And the said Anderson Tiller and Priscilla his wife convenant & agree that they will warrant generally the property hereby coneyed to the said William Tiller Senr. & his heirs forever. Witness the following signatures and seals. Anderson Tiller (seal) Priscilla (her X mark) Tiller (seal) I, Opie Starte a Notary Public in & for the County aforesaid & State of Virginia do hereby certify that Anderson Tiller & Priscilla his wife parties to the annexed deed personally appeared before me in my said County & acknowledged the same. She the said Priscilla Tiller having been privatly examined by me apart from her said husband & having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her declared that she had willingly signed the same & did not wish to retract it. Additional Comments: Anderson Tiller (son of William & Rebecca Clay Tiller) married Priscilla Perdue (daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Perdue) 28 April 1831 in Giles Co., VA. Anderson was twenty and Priscilla seventeen. They had twelve children and moved to Iowa in 1865. Anderson died 2 May 1885 in Black Hawk Co., Iowa. He is buried in the Hill Family Cemetery north of the former town of Mooresville in Geneseo Twp., Tama Co., Iowa. Priscilla Perdue Tiller left Iowa (1885) after her husband's death. She died in her daughter's home 28 March 1887 at French Villa, WV. She is buried in the White Cemetery on Five-Mile Fork above Oakvale in Mercer Co., WV.
