GILES COUNTY, VA - LAND RECORDS - Mary Williams to Philip Lybrook, 31 May 1848 ----¤¤¤---- Giles County, Virginia Mary Williams to Philip Lybrook Deed Book: H Page: 184-185 Proved: June 26, 1848 This Indenture made and entered into this 31st day of May in the year of our Lord 1848 Between Mary Williams of the county of Giles and state of Virginia of the one part and Philip Lybrook of the county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Mary Williams has for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Dollars to her in hand paid recpt whereof she does hereby acknowledge she has given, granted, bargained and sold to the said Philip Lybrook a certain piece or parcel of land which was conveyed by to the said Lybrook by Isaiah Hale in the year 1833, and it has since been determined that 15 acres 1 rood and 15 poles of said land was covered by a grant for 370 acres of land Patented to George Williams prior to the grant under under which the said Isaiah Hale owned, and from which he conveyed to the said Lybrook, and the said George Williams conveyed by and of bargain and sale of that portion of the 370 acre tract of land in which the 15 acres is included to Michael Williams who died intestate leaving George S. Williams, Elizabeth and Susanna Williams as his legal heirs - The said George S. Williams purchased from Adam Johnston and Susanna their interest being the one third interest of said land - who conveyed the same to him by deed of bargain & sale, and the said George S. Williams devised his interest being two thirds of said tract of land to the said Mary Williams by his last will and testament & Alexander Reynolds and Elizabeth his wife late Elizabeth Williams sold and conveyed by deed of bargain and sale their interest being the one third of said tract of land to said Mary Williams. All of which will appear by reference to the clerks office of Giles county, said will and deeds aforesaid have been recorded. - To have and to hold the said piece or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereto belonging to the sole use and behalf of him the said Philip Lybrook and his heirs forever. And the said Mary Williams for herself and her heirs the Title of said piece or parcel of land will forever warrant and defend against the claim or claims of all and every person whatever.
