VIRGINIA: In the Clerk's Office, Circuit Court of Giles County. WILL OF CHRISTOPHER HEATHERINGTON, DECEASED. In the name of God, Amen. I, Christopher Heatherington of the County of Giles and State of Virginia being sick and weak of body but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God and being desirous to dispose of all such worldy (sp.) estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following, that is to say first of all, I give to wife Susanah the land we now live on during her natural life and our mare and one cow together with household furniture, the personal estate at her death to dispose of at pleasure and after her death the land is to descend to my son Joseph Heatherington. 2nd I also give to my son Joseph the Black Smith tools with Samuel Linsey having the privilege of doing his own worke on them and no more - I also give to my son Joseph our still and weavers tools and gears that belong to it - 3rdly I give to my daughter Betsey Henderson Two hundred dollars. 4thly I give to my daughter Catey Heatherington to (sp.) hundred dollars - 5thly I give my daughter Nancy Linsey the sum of two hundred dollars. The severale sumes mentioned is to be proportioned and paid equally to my three daughters as the money is collected. I also give my son Joseph one Black Heifer. I also give my Daughter Nancy Linsey one Black Heifer - I also give my wife one other Heifer. It will be understood also that Samuel Linsey is to have the privilege of the still to still his own fruit and no more. And also the half of the Waggon - lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend John Stafford, Jr. and Joseph Heatherington Executors of this my last will and testament by my hereunto made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 17th day of October, 1822.
