Will of Gasper Link, 1844 - Giles Co. VA Will Book 1, p. 355-356 I Gasper Link of the County of Giles and State of Virginia do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth to wit. First, I Give and bequeath to my Son Christian Link in addition to land I have heretofore deeded to him an other field of Land lying on the East Side of his farm containing 30 Acres and also so much of my Old survey as is included in the following bounds to wit Beginning at the Old line at the branch between my house and Christian Links and with the fence down the branch running Directly through the Land. Secondly, I Give and bequeath to my Sons Christian Link and Henry Link my waggon and everything appertaining thereto my Smith tools are to remain on the plantation (where they now are) and each of my three sons are to have an equal interest in them and also the same as it respects my Still. Thirdly, I Give to my son William all the lands I purchased from William Lucas lying on Sinking Creek the being the lands whereon the said William Link now resides. Fourthly, I Give to my Wife Mary my Negro man Named Bob, two work horses two milch Cows or Choice of the cows. One half of my stock of hogs two beds and their furniture and the ballance of my hogs I Give to my Son Henry and at the decease of my wife I also give to my son Henry my Negro man Bob and all the other personal property on my plantation at the Death of my of my [sic] Wife and none of my property is to be Sold by executors. Fifthly I Give to my son Henry Link for the Benefit of my Daughter Polly Summerfield's Daughter Mary when She gets maried the following tract of land beginning at the Corner of the Orchard fence thence west course to porterfields line thence with the same a south course to Hunters line thence an easterly course until opposite to the beginning so as to run a Direct line following a cross fence to the Beginning. But the said Mary Summerfield is to receive no property or interest of the Said land until she Gets Married. Sixthly I Give to my Daughter Catherine One Dollar to be paid her by my Executors. Seventhly, I Give to my son Henry all the land I own not heretofore devised to my sons Christian & William and my Son Henry for the benefit of my Daughter Polly Summerfields Daughter Mary and all my money and all Debts that may be due to me at my decease together with my other property that may be on the plantation at the Death of me and my wife Elizabeth I Give to my Daughter Elizabeth Harless in addition to the horse beast cows and house hold & kitchen furniture and that he has heretofore received from me all the debts that her husband owes me and nothing more. And lastly I do hereby appoint William Link and William Porterfield Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills by me heretofore made.
