Know ye that for Divers good Causes and Considerations but more Especially for and in Consideration of the Summ of Twenty Shillings of good and Lawful mony for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have Given Granted and Confirmed and by these Presents for us our Heirs and Successors Do Give Grant and Confirm unto William Matlock One certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing One Hundred and Ninty Acres Lying and being on the North side of James River in the County of Goochland and bounded as Followeth (to wit) Beginning at a white Walnut on the west side of the Little Byrd runing Thence on Joseph Bellenger North Twenty nine and an half Degrees West Two Hundred and Forty four Poles to a Pine South Sixty one Degrees West Thirty nine Poles to Pointers Thence on Arthur Hopkins North Eight Degrees West one Hundred Sixty five Poles to a white Oak Thence a new Line North Sixty four Degrees East Seventeen Poles to a white Oak Thence on Robert Horsely South Forty four and an half Degrees East Three Hundred and Eighteen Poles to a white Oak and two Hickorys on the West side of the Little Byrd and Thence Down the Little Byrd according to its meanders to the first Station With all &c.
