INDENTURE 22 Feb 1788

This Indenture made this 22nd day of Febuary in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and eight between Matthew Lowry of Goochland County
of the one part and Thornton Lowry of the same county in the 2nd part
Witnesseth ath the said Matthew Lowry for and in consideration of the sum of
one hundred pounds to me in hand paid by the said Thornton Lowry the Rec't
whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained and sold and by
these presents do give grant bargain and sell unto the said Thornton Lowry
his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and
being in the county of Goochland on the branches of the great Byrd Creek
containing by estimation one hundred acres.  Be the same more or less and
bounded as followeth beginning on Paynes Road adjoining the tract of land
commonly called Cranks thence down said road for enughe to include the above
mentioned one hundred acres thence a straight line to David Ross's tract
thence along said Ross line to Jos. Lowrey's line thence to my upper corner
and from thence to the beginning.  TO HAVE TO TO HOLD the said tract of land
with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Thornton Lowry his
heirs and assigns forever and the said Matthew Lowry for himself and his
heirs doth forever defend the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances
aforesaid unto the said Thornton Lowry his heirs and assigns forever against
the claim or demand of any person or persons whatsoever in Witness whereof
the said Matt'w Lowry has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year
above written.

Memorandum that on the day of the date of the within written deed full and
peaceable seizen and possession of the within mentioned tract of land was
had and taken by the within Named Matthew Lowry and delivered unto the
within named Thornton Lowry.          /s/ Matthew Lowry, seal

Goochland County on the one part and Matthew Lowry Jr of the same county on
the other part.  Witnesseth:  that the said Matthew Lowrey Senr for and  in
consideration of the sum of hone hundred pounds to me in hand paid by the
said Matt Lowrey Jr the Rec't whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given
granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and
sell unto the said Mathew Lowrey Jr his heirs and assigns forever a certain
tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Goochland on the
Branches of Coles Creek containing by estimation one hundred acres to the
same more or less and bounded as followeth; beginning on Payes road at the
corner of Thornton Lowry's land thence down said road to David Ross's line
thence a long said Ross's line to Joel Lowrey line then along said Joel
Lowrey's line to Joseph Lowreys line then along Joseph Lowreys line to Jno
Hughtes line then along said Hughes's line so as to intersect with Thornton
Lowreys deviding line and thence along the said dividing line to the
beginning to have and to hold the said tract of land with the appurtenances
thereunto belonging unto the s'd Matthew Lowrey Jr his hiers and assigns
forever and the said Matthew Lowry Senr for himself and his heirs doth
forever depend the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances aforesaid
unto the said Matthew Lowrey Jr his heirs and assigns forever against the
claim on demand of any person or persons whatsoever.  In witness whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above.  Written signed
