INDENTURE 1835

John Duvall and Joanna J., his wife, Edward Lowry & Polly his wife of the county
of Fluvanna of the first part, and Mildred Hall of the county of Goochland
of the second part, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of
twenty dollars apid to the said John Duvall and Edward Lowry by the said
Midlred Hall at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given, granted, bargained and
sold and by these presents do bargain and sell to the said Mildred Hall, all
the right and title and interest of the said John Duvall in and to one
undivided half of thirty acres of land, the other half of which belongs to
Charles Cocke of the county of Albemarle, conveyed to Duvall and Cocke by
Edward and James Lowry and of record in Goochland County.  Also two lots
containing thirteen acres more or less adjoining the thirty acres aforesaid
the legal title to which is in the s'd Edward Lowry, one of the parties to
this Indenture, the said lands adjoin the lands of William Southworth,
Mildred Hall and others.  To have and to hold, the said pieces or parcels of
land and premises together with all and singular the privileges and
appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining mentioned or
intended to be mentioned sold or intended to be sold and every part or
parcel thereof to the said Mildred hall her heirs and assigns forever.  And
the said John Duvall and Joanna T., his wife, and Edward Lowry and Polly his
wife for themselves and their heirs the said herein mentioned land with all
and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said
Mildred Hall and her heirs free from the claim or claims of the said Jno.
Duvall and Joanna T. his wife and their heirs and the said Edward Lowry and
Polly his wife and their heirs shall will and do warrant and forever defend
by these presents.  In _____? Whereof the said John Duvall and Joanna T.,
his wife, and the said Edward Lowry and Polly, his wife, have hereto set
their hands and seals the day and year first herein written.

Fluvanna County to wit
We Joseph H. Turner and Jno. R. Perkins, justices of the peace in the county
aforesaid the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Edward Lowry and
John Duval parties to the above deed baring date on the first day of Jun
1835 and hereto annexed, personally appeared before us in our county
aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed, and desired us
to certify the said acknowledgement to the clerk of the County of Goochland
in order that the said deed may be recorded.  Given under our hands and
seals the 6th day of June 1835.    Jos. H. Turner

Mary Lowry, wife of Edward Lowry, and Joanna T. Duval, wife of Jno. Duval,
parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 1st day of June 1835, and
hereto annexed, personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and
being examined by us privily and apart from their husbands, and having the
deed aforesaid fully explained to them, they the said Mary Lowry and Joanna
T. Duval have acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and declared
that they had willingly signed, sealed and delivered the same and that they
wished not to retract it.  Given under our hands and seals this 6th day of
June 1835.

At a court held for Goochland County 16th November 1835.  This Indenture was
presented in Court and with the certificates thereon, ordered to be
