I John Blackwell of Goochland Co. being in a declining state of 
health do make my last will & testament.  I give & bequeath to my 
sister Mildred Parrish the following slaves, David & Sue during 
her natural life but in case she should have issue to them & their 
heirs forever.  Then I give & bequeath to my sister Judith Raine 
the 3 following slaves to with Fannie, Hannah & Aggy during her 
natural life, but should she have issue to them & their heirs 
forever.  Then I give & bequeath to my brother James Blackwell & 
his heirs forever the following slaves to with Moses, Daniel,Sue 
the younger & Billy.  My will & desire is that on failure of issue 
of either of my sisters the negroes bequeath them shall be equally 
divided between the children of my brother James.  Further more my 
will & desire is that my horses & all other property of which I 
may disposed except my wearing apparel may be sold & after 
discharging my debts the real proceeds to be equally divided 
between my 2 sisters Mildred & Judith & my brother James.  Lastly 
I appoint my friends Sherrerd Parrish, and Nathaniel Raine 
executor to this my last will & testament.     Proved 18 Dec. 
1780.
