Valentine Papers Vol. 2, p. 981 Robert W. Pleasants, of the Co. of Goochland. Will of. Gives to his wife Mary Pleasants the whole of his house hold and kitchen furniture during her widowhood, but should she marry she is to have 1/3 part of testators estate and the remaining 2/3 part to be invested for the benefit of testators children, viz: Mary J. V., Sarah M. Isaac W. Henry C. Annot L. and John H. Pleasants. Directs that should his wife die, his six children should all be left together on the plantation until the youngest comes of age. At which time he desires his whole estate (except his slaves) sold and the money equally divided between sd. children. Gives to his son Isaac W. Pleasants his watch which had been in his family upwards of 100 years because it was formerly the property of sd. Isaac W. Pleasants' grandfather whose name sd. Isaac W. Pleasants bears. Gives to each of his single sisters Emily and Harriet J. Pleasants $250,00 and requests that they be requested to reside in his family as long as they remain single to think proper to do so without being charged board. Appoints Doct. Thomas Curd, Doct George W. Harris and Doct John Morris his executors. Wit. John M. Vaughn, Harriet E. Harris, Juliet A. Harris. Proved and recorded Feb. 15, 1850.
