This Indenture made this 26th day of February in the year of our Lord 1827 
Between John Isom Senr & Rebbecah Isom his wife of the County of Grayson and 
State of Virginia of the one part and Jacob Toliver of the other part both of 
the County and State aforesaid Witnesseth that he the said John Isom for and 
in consideration of the sum of one hundred and five Dollars to him in hand 
paid by the said Jacob Toliver hath granted bargained sold and Conveyed and 
confirm (sic) unto the said Jacob Toliver a Certain tract of land containing 
one hundred acres situate in the County of Grayson and State aforesaid on New 
river and bounded as followeth to wit; Beginning at a white Hickory at the 
mouth of a branch on the west bank of the New River a corner of said Isoms 
land thence with his line N 18 E 100 poles up the branch to a large white oak 
thence leaving (?) said line N 20 E 50 poles to a Chestnut tree in the top of 
a ridge S 30 W 258 poles to a Spanish oak on the side of a hill S 10 E 38 
poles to a hickory on the west bank of new river thence down the river bending 
thereon S 77 W 350 poles to the Beginning Which said Land and premises with 
all the appurtenances thereon belonging the said John Isom doth hereby warrant 
and forever defend unto him the said Jacob Toliver his heirs and assigns 
forever free and Clear from all incumbrances and claims of him the said John 
Isom his heirs and assigns and from all persons Claiming under him or theirs 
or any of them  In Witness whereof the said John Isom hath hereunto set his 
hand and seal the day and date first above written.  Signed Sealed and
delivered in presents of         John Isom (seal)
