He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Magnolia Barker Price. He was born May 15, 1911, in Grayson County, Va.,. to Newton and Daisy Powers Price. Surviving: two daughters, Margaret Quick and husband Donald, Manassas, Va., and Maxie Hopkins, Fairfax, Va.; two sisters, Waive Henderson, Rugby, Va., and Annie Kilby, Independence, Va.; five grandchildren, Patricia Vitas, Buddy Hopkins, Rodney Hopkins, Christi Bastianelli and Tina Quik; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Vitas, Ryan Bastianelli and Rachel Vitas; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, in Fox Creek Regular Baptist Church, Troutdale. Interment in Troutdale Cemetery. The body will be at the church 30 minutes preceding the service. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Troutdale Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Troutdale, VA 24378. The family will be at the home of Mr. Price, 203 CC Camp Lane, Troutdale, Va., where friends may call at any time. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va., in charge of arrangements.
