She had been sick for only a short time, her death being caused by pneumonia. She was nineteen years old. May was a good girl and was loved by all who knew her. She professed faith in Christ when young and united with the M. E. Church, South, and lived a consistent member until God in infinite goodness called her from the church militant to the church triumphant. "There to remain with him world without end." We cannot say and will not say that she is dead. May leaves to mourn her loss, father, mother, three brothers, and four sisters, besides a host of friends. She was buried at Ebenezar Friday evening at two o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Revs. Mayberry, Vaughan, Hall, and Mrs. Osborne. ---------- Born 9 April 1897, Cherry Lane Township, Alleghany County, North Carolina Died 15 March 1917, Spring Valley, Grayson County, Virginia Daughter of Henry Alexander (Alex) & Carrie Belle (Nicholls) Shupe Note: Ollie Mae was my Mother's sister and was 19 years old when she died of pneumonia.
