Deed - Parham Mabry to Elizabeth Jones Mabry & Jean Hobbs (Deed Book 2, page 9, Greensville Co.VA.) THIS INDENTURE made this twenty eighth day of August one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven BETWEEN Parham Mabry of the Borough of Petersburg of the one part, and Elizabeth Jones Mabry and Jean Hobbs (two of my Sisters) of the other part, Witnesseth that I (Transcribers Note: "the said" was erased in the record and "I" added) Parham Mabry doth agreeable and according to my Father's Daniel Mabry's directions and instructions, and by the power of him the said Daniel Mabry, given granted, alien, and confirmed to the said Parham Mabry his son, and by virtue of a Deed of Trust to and for that purpose made and recorded in the County Court of Greensville, I Parham Mabry as aforesaid doth by these presents give and grant unto my Sister Elizabeth Jones Mabry two Negroes (to wit) Patt and Scott and their increase also one feather bed and furniture, and three Cows and Calves to her and her heirs forever. I also do give and grant to my Sister Jean Hobbs two Negroes (to wit) Stephen and Agga, and their increase, and also one feather bed and furniture, and three Cows and Calves to her and her heirs forever. To Have And To Hold the above legacies with all profits thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining thereunto. As Witness my hand and Seal this day and year first above written. This Indenture was proved by the oaths of Thomas Ezell and Edmund Peebles, Witnesses thereto, and at a Court held for the said County the 26th day of July 1792.
