Deed - Jesse James Rideout,et al to B.J.DuVal & Company

This Deed made and entered into this 22d day of June in the year 1896
by and between Jesse J.Rideout and Anna C.Rideout his wife, Robert T.
Rideout and Lucy F.Rideout his wife, and George W.Rideout and Lucy L.
Rideout his wife parties of the first part, all of the County of
Mecklenburg, State of Virginia, and B.J. Du Val & J.L.Robertson,
partners trading as B.J. Du Val & Company parties of the second part,
Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred 
and thirty dollars, Cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged, the parties of the first part do hereby grant, bargain,
sell and convey, with General Warranty, unto the said parties of the
second part, the following real estate, to wit: all that certain tract,
piece or parcel of land, situate,lying and being in Greensville County,
State of Virginia, and containing two hundred and twenty eight acres be
the same, more or less, and bounded as follows, On the North by the 
lands of Spencer & Holloway, East by the lands of Jesse J.Rideout, 
South by the lands of Wiggins and West by the lands of Everett Still.-
The parties of the first part covenant that they have the right to
convey the said land to the grantees; that they have done no act (to)
encumber the said land; that the grantees shall have quiet possession
of the said land, free from all encumberances & that they the said 
parties of the first part will execute such further assurances of the
said land as may be requisite. Witness the following signatures and
seals.

I, G.T.Valentine a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid, in
the State of Virginia , do certify that Jesse J.Rideout & Anna C.
Rideout,his wife, Robert T.Rideout & Lucy F.Rideout, his wife, & George
W.Rideout and Lucy L.Rideout, his wife, whose names are signed to the
annexed writings, bearing date on the 22d day of June 1896, have each
of them acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid.-
Given under my hand this 26th day of June 1896.

In the Clerks office of Greensville County Court on the 2nd day of July
1896. This Deed of bargain & sale from Jesse J.Rideout & als to B.J.
Du Val & J.L.Robertson was this day lodged in the said office, and was
together with the certificate thereon admitted to record at 5 oclock
