THIS INDENTURE made this Eleventh Day of August in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Four BETWEEN William Barlow & Naomi his wife, Thomas Moore & Milley his wife,Hardy Melton & Delilah his wife & John Sammons & Chloe his wife of the County of Greensville of the one part and Abner Grigg of the County of Dinwiddie of the other part WITNESSETH that the said William Barlow etc. for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Three Pounds current money of Virg'a. to them in hand paid by the said Abner Grigg the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, they the said William Barlow & Naomi his wife, Thomas Moore & Milley his wife, Hardy Melton & Delilah his wife & John Sammons & Chloe his wife, have granted bargained & sold by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said Abner Grigg his heirs and assigns for ever all that certain Tract piece or parcel of Land and premises situate lying & being in the aforesaid County of Greensville, containing One Hundred & Six Acres be the same more or less and bounded by the lines of Frederick Grigg & Lawrence Howse & two new chopp'd lines that divides this land from the Lands of the aforesaid Hardy Melton & John Sammons & is part of the Land lately conveyed by John Lawrence now dec'd by Deed of Gift to Naomi, Milley, Delilah & Chloe Lawrence now wives of the aforesaid William Barlow, Thomas Moore,Hardy Melton & John Sammons which said Deed of Gift bears date the (blank) day of (blank)in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and (blank) and is duly recorded in the Worshipful Court of Brunswick County reference thereto being had may more fully appear TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Land and premises with all and singular the appurt's. thereunto belonging and the said Abner Grigg his heirs & assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Abner Grigg his heirs & assigns for ever AND the said William Barlow & Naomi his wife, & Thomas Moore & Milly his wife,Hardy Melton & Delilah his wife & John Sammons & Chloe his wife the said Land & premises to the said Abner Grigg his heirs & assigns against them the said William Barlow & Naomi his wife, Thomas Moore & Milly his wife, Hardy Melton & Delilah his wife & John Sammons & Chloe his wife, and their several and respective heirs & against all and every other person & persons whatsoever shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents.
