Gay, wife of Joseph W. Gay, died at her home near Emporia, Va., Oct. 11, 1907. She leaves a husband and three sons to mourn their loss. She was 77 years old, and for three years has been in ill health, and totally blind. The end was not unexpected. She was Miss Lusetta C. Lanier, and was widely known in this and Southampton county for her lovely Christian character and patience under affliction. When the writer last saw her she said: "Oh if I could only see your face, but everything in His own good time. I am blind now, but my eyes will be opened to see the things hereafter,: for it is written "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have enterd into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him, and I do love and trust Him." She looked for a city which hath foundation whose builder and maker is God. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the Death of His Saints. A FRIEND. The Apostolic Messenger please copy.
