MABEL LEE PAIR POWELL 

  Mrs. Mabel Pair Powell, age 79, widow of Dempsey J. Powell, died 
March 3, 1986.  She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

  She is survived by two daughters, Frances P. Collett of Emporia, 
and Mrs. Carolyn P. Moore of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two sisters Mrs. 
Lena P. Taylor of Emporia and Mrs. Gladys P. Robbins of Capron; 
six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

  A graveside funeral service was conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, 
March 5, at the Emporia Cemetery.  The Rev. Jerry Stanley officiated.

  Echols Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
