Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Pair Robbins of Courtland; two daughters, Mrs. Marian R. Francis of Mechanicsville and Mrs. Louise R. Bryant of Courtland; one sisters, Mary R. Batts of Rocky Mount, N.C.; four grand children and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at the Emporia Cemetery. The Rev. D. Glenn Langston officiated. Echols Funeral Home, Emporia, in charge of arrangements. ****************************************************************************** GEORGE SANFORD ROBBINS COURTLAND - A funeral for George S. Robbins, 87, was held Monday at 2 p.m. in Emporia Cemetery by the Rev. Glen Langston. Echols Funeral Home, Emporia, was in charge. Robbins died Saturday in Greensville Memorial Hospital, Emporia. A native of Courtland, he was the husband of Gladys P. Robbins. He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War I. Other survivors include two daughters, Marian R. Francis of Mechanicsville and Louise R. Bryant of Courtland; a sister, Mary R. Batts of Rocky Mount, N.C.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
