GREENSVILLE COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Timothy Allen, 26 Aug 1807 ----¤¤¤---- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Timothy Allen of the County of Greensville and State of Virginia, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: Item: my will and desire is for all my just debts to be paid. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Allen, when she arrives to the age of eighteen years of age or marries, one negro girl by name of Zilpah if obtained as I have a suit depending for the said girl with George Howell, also one feather bed and furniture and one seal skin trunk in like manner to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann Allen the following property, to wit: one negro girl named Andra?, one feather bed and furniture and one large blue chest, when she arrives to the age of eighteen years or marries to her her heirs and assigns forever. In case one of my before maned children should die without an heir, it is my will the other should heir thats (the other child's) property. Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lucy Allen all the residue of my household and kitchen furniture, also one black mare, also I lend here all the residue of my estate both real and personal so long as she remains my widow. My will and desire is that in case both my children should die before they arrive to the age of eighteen or marry, in that case, to return to my wife, but in case my wife should die before that period, to return to my brothers and sisters and Nancy Allen, my niece, in equal division. Item: I do nominate and appoint my wife Lucy and my friend? Benjamin ______ my Executors to this my Last Will and Tetament. Item: It is my will and desire should my wife die or marry before _______ receives or that to the age of eighteen or without issue for my land not to be i__ted or the _______ land that he residue? the ____ land and _______ on? this land _______ revoking all Wills heretofore made by me. Sykes John Sykes At a Court held for the County of Greensville December 1807 This Will was proved according to law by William Robinson and John Sykes, witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and the Executors therein named refused to qualify as such, on the motion of Lucy Allen, the Executrix therein named, Certificate was granted her for obtaining Letters of Administration on the said Testator's estate with the Will annexed in due form, she having made oath thereto according to law & acknowledged bond with approved security conditions as the law directs.
