GREENSVILLE COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Sarah Clark, 20 Feb 1809 ----¤¤¤---- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Sarah Clark of Greensville county and state of Virginia being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament and do dispose of what worldly good it hath pleased God to bless me with in the manner and form following, to wit: Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Patty Clark one dark bay mare called Bergamot, to her and her heirs forever, but should the above mare bring a colt the ensuing spring, it is my desire that the colt be kept with the mare until the tenth of September next and then to be given to my grandson Edward Anderton. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly Clark all the property that she has heretofore received from me. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy V. Anderton three of the likelist cows in my stock of cattle to her and her heirs forever. I also give to my daughter Nancy V. Anderton all the property that she has heretofore received from me. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Patsy Moss one dark bay horse call'd Demarius, also one woman's saddle and briddle, one bed and furniture, two trunks, and band box, three hundred weight of bacon, to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Edwin Clark one pair of cart wheels to him and his heirs forever. My will and desire is that the residue of my estate be sold for the payment of my debts but should there be a balance after paying my just debts, my will and desire is that it shall be equally divided between my three daughters, to wit: Polly Clark, Nancy V. Anderton and Patsey Moss, to them and their heirs forever. I do hereby nominate and appoint James Clark sole Executor to this my Last Will and Testament.
