The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Achilles Jeffries Will (Son of John Jeffries Sr. of Mecklenburg County Virginia) In the name of God, Amen, I Achilles Jeffries of Greensville County being sick, and weak of body, but of sound memory, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner following, Viz: Imprimis - My will and desire is that all my land in Mecklenburg shall be sold to pay my just debts. Item: I give to my son John Mason Jeffries my Negro boy names Lewis and to him and his heirs and assigns. Item: I give to my daughter Mason Jeffries my Negro girl named Letty and to her heirs and assigns. Item: I give to my daughter Sarah Jeffries my Negro girl named Violet and to her and her heirs and assigns. Item: I give to my daughter Ann Swepson Jeffries my Negro girl named Pleasant and to her heirs and assigns. Item: I lend to my beloved wife Mary Jeffries all the residue of my estate during her natural life, subject to a division as my children come of age, or marries, at which time either of these cases first happens, I desire that my executors divide the estate and give on her their proportion still the residue to continue in her _______? And to be delivered to each of my children as they arrive to age or marries, and in case the money arising from the sale of the above mentioned in Mecklenburg should not be sufficient to discharge my just debts, I desire that my executors dispose of such part of the remaining estate as they shall suppose to be most advantage to the said estate, and I do appoint my beloved wife Mary Jeffries with my fried John Turner and my son-in-law Michael Wall my executors of this my last will and testament revoking all other heretofore made, and when the said Michael Wall doth arrive to the age of twenty years, I desire that the said Michael Wall shall take the whole executorship into his hands if the other executors choose to give it up.
