Item: I give to my son John Mason Jeffries my negro boy named Lewis, and to him and his heirs and assigns. Item: I give to my son William Swepson Jeffries my negro boy Isaac and to him and his heirs and assigns. Item: I give to my daughter Rebeka Mason Jeffries my negro girl named Letty, and to her heirs and assigns. Item: I give to my daughter Sarah Jeffries my negro girl named Violet and to her and her heirs and assigns. Item: I give unto my daughter Ann Swepson (or Sivepson?) Jeffries my negro girl named Pleasant and to her and her heirs and assigns. Item: I lend to my beloved wife Mary Jeffries all the residue of my estate during her natural life, subject to a division as my children comes of age, or marries, at which time either of these cases first happens, I desire that my Executors divide the estate and give on her their proportion still the residue to continue in her possession and to be delivered to each of my children as they arrive to age or married, and case the money arising from the sale of the above mentioned land in Mecklenburg should not be sufficient to discharge my just debts, I desire that my Executors dispose of such part of the remaining estate as they shall suppose to be to most advantage to the said estate. And I do appoint my beloved wife Mary Jeffries with my friend John Turner, and my son in law Michael Wall my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament revoking all others by me heretofore made and when the said Michael Wall doth arrive to the age of twenty years, I desire that the said Michael Wall shall take the whole Executorship into his hands if the others Executors refuses to give it up. AS WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of May 1794. And on the motion of Mary Jeffries, the Executrix therein named, who made oath thereto according to law and together with Joseph Williams and John Goodwyn her securities entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of two thousand pounds conditioned as the law directs, Certificate was granted her for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form (liberty being reserved for the Executors to join in the said Probat when they may think fit). At a Court held for the County of Greensville on April 1797 This Will was proved by the oath of Betty Rosser, a witness thereto and ordered to be Certified? (looks like "certified" and not "recorded".)
