Cemetery Location:  9.5 miles southwest of South Boston, Virginia.  Go .8 mile 
                    south of South Boston, on Route #501, thence 1.5 miles 
                    southwest on Route #711.  The graveyard is on the north side 
                    of the road.
                    Halifax County

Mr. Owen is the present owner of the property surrounding the graveyard (1938).

DESCRIPTION:

This graveyard is about one hundred yards south of the D. W. Owen home.  It is 
enclosed with a picket fence.  There are a good many large trees, boxwood, 
cedars and evergreens in this small graveyard.  It is well kept by descendents 
of the Harris family.  The first stone whose inscription is quoted below, has a 
stone wall twelve inches high around it.  A marble slab covers the grave, there 
being a similar marble slab over the grave of Ann L. Harris.  Several of the 
stones are of the small upright type and the stone at the grave of Dr. James 
Edwin Harris and his wife Charlotte has a marble obelisk which stands about 
eight feet high and has an urn on top of it.
