McCorkle Died January 3rd, 1870 Aged 3 years One more dear little golden head nestling on Jesus bosom. Sacred to the memory of Reuben D. Fourqurean Who departed this life on the 25th day of May, 1851 aged 38 years, 8 mos. and 14 days. He was born in the County of Halifax which contained his home and in which he breathed his last. In all the relations of life he sustained well his part. He was a devoted husband, an affectionate father, an indulgent master, a good neighbor and a useful citizen. Affectionate in his disposition, hospitable in his feeling, with kind and conciliatory manners, but modest and retiring, he was best beloved by those who knew him best. By the relentless hand of death his heartstone has been rendered desolate, his memory is cherished by a disconsolate wife, by seven devoted children, by an attached sister, and numerous relatives and friends. He was not a member of any church but his friends enjoy the pleasing consolation that he had found the pearl of great price, that he was sustained by the hand of Jesus in his passage through the valley of the shadow of death, and that his spirit now mingles in regions of bliss with the spirit of just men made perfect.
