Halifax County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Deeds Robert HUTCHINGS, 218-acre patent, 1770 [p.] 15) [...] [margin notes] Rob.t HUTCHINGS} 218 Acres } Form page. 1. } George the Third &.c To all &.c Know ye that for divers good causes and Considerations but more especially for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty five Shillings of good and lawful money for our Use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony & Dominion of Virginia, We have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for us our Heirs and Sucessors Do give grant and confirm unto Robert HUTCHINGS one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred & eighteen Acres lying and being in the County of Halifax on both sides of the Double Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a white Oak on the North side of the said Creek thence new lines North six Degrees East one hundred and sixty Poles to a Pine East two hundred & ninety Poles to a Pine, South forty five Degrees East eighty four Poles to a Pine in Col.o BYRD's Line, thence on the same, South sixty degrees West One hundred and fifty Poles crossing the said Creek to a Pine, thence new Lines North sixty four Degrees West one hundred and thirty Poles to ~ Pointers South seventy five degrees West sixty Poles to a spanish Oak on the Creek aforesaid and thence up the same as it meanders to the beginning With all &.c To have hold &.c To be held &.c Yielding and Paying &.c Provided &.c In Witness &.c Witness Norborne.
