Witnesseth that the said George Borum for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Light the receipt whereof the said George Borum death hereby confess and acknowledge and thereof doth acquit exonerate and discharge the said John Light by these presents, he this said George Borum hath granted bargained and sold, aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents death grant bargain and sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto the said John Light two certain tracts pieces or parcels of land adjacent and adjoining each other, situate lying and being on the South side of Bannister River in the county aforesaid the first containing by estimation one hundred and forty acres be the same more or less and is bounded as followeth To wit, beginning at Moses Terrys corner beech on the said River thence down the River as it meanders to Garrett Winingham’s corner sweet gum on the said river; thence on his line to Moses Terrys line, and thence along that to the beginning & being the tract of land conveyed by Francis Roberts to the said George Borum by deed an indenture bearing the date the twentieth day of January 1785 and the other tract containing by estimation 100 acres be the same more or less and bound it as followeth to it beginning at a corner white oak on the said Moses Terrye's line that's along that to a corner pine on Ambrose ransoms line thence along his line to a post oak on Garrett Winingham's line there along his line to a corner white oak on the four said George Borum's line gets along said line to the beginning it being the tract of land conveyed by Moses Terry to the said George Borum by deed of indenture bearing date the first day of April 1785 both of which deeds are duly recorded in the county court of Halifax reference being there too had may more fully appear To have and to hold the said tract pieces or parcels of land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said John Light his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Light his heirs & assigns forever, and the said George Borum for himself and his heirs doth further covenant and grant to and with the said John Light these two tracts pieces or parcels of land and premises with all the appurtenances unto the said John Light his heirs and assigns against him the said George Borum and his heirs and assigns his right title claim or interest of all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will covenant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said George Borum hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.
