One Thousand Seven hundred and sixty-one between William Byrd of Charles City County of the one part and Alexander Gray of Halifax County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Byrd for and in Consideration of the sum of One pound Twelve shillings and Six pence Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Alexr Gray the Receipt whereof the said William Byrd doth hereby acknowledge hath given , granted, bargained and sold aliened (?) and confirmed by these presents doth Give Grant, bargain and sell Alien (?)and Confirm unto the said Alexr Gray all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Halifax County on the County Line and Containing by Estimation one hundred and fifty-one Acres and Bounded as followeth to wit. Beginning at a pine in the county line thence North twenty five degrees west seventy eight chain to a pine thence west eighty chains to a white oak thence south Ten Degrees east Seventy four Chain to a Hicory in the County line thence on said line ninety nine chain to the Beginning and also all trees woods and underwoods Profits Commodities Advantages. Hereto I am … Ways Waters Water Courses and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of land and Premises above mentioned belonging or any ways appertaining and also the reversion and provision (?)
