This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord 
eighteen hundred and thirty five between Peter M. Reves and Bird L. Ferrell 
commissioners appointed by the Court of Halifax County Va to oversee the lands 
of William T Reves decd of the one part and Peter Reves of the County and 
State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Peter M Reves and 
Bird L Ferrell for an in Consideration of the sum of six hundred and thirty 
one dollars current money of Virginia to them in hand paid the receipt whereof 
is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold enfeoffed and confirmed and 
by these presents do grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said 
Peter Reaves (sic) his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of 
land containing one hundred forty and one quarter acres it being a part of the 
before named Wm T Reves decd estate and bounded as followeth  Beginning at a 
red oak and pine on east fork Runaway creek Peter Reves lines thince (sic) 
down the creek as it meanders 359 poles to Clays line thence Clays lines 149 
poles to corner pine in Easleys line thence Easleys Logans Cains lines N 17° 
West 170 poles to a pine near a small road Clays corner thence his line due 
east 16 poles to a small gum, thence So 51 E 166 poles to a pine near a spring 
thence No 70 a E 106 poles to a stake in old field thence So 68° 622 poles to 
pointers on the creek aforesaid thence down the said creek as it meanders to 
the beginning  together with all the appurtenances belonging, contiguous or 
appertaining to the said tract of land unto the said Peter Reves his heirs and 
assigns forever and the said Peter M Reves & Bird L Ferrell as commissioners 
will warrant a good and sufficient right title to the tract of land with its 
appurtenances against ourselves and all claiming under us and none others and 
the said Peter Reves his heirs and assigns forever as witness whereof we have 
hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date above written ~

At a Court held for Halifax County the 23d day of March 1835
     The within written Indenture was presented in Court and acknowledged by 
the within named Peter M Reves and Bird L Ferrell parties thereto to be their 
act and deed and ordered to be recorded ~
