Reves to Fletcher

Deed Book 43, Page 537

This Indenture made this 26th day of September in the year of our Lord 
Eighteen hundred and thirty six between Peter Reves of the County of Halifax 
state of Virginia of the one part and Thomas Fletcher of the County and State 
aforesaid of the other part  Witnesseth that the said Peter Reves for and in 
consideration of the sum of eighty dollars current money of Virginia to him in 
hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold 
and by these presents do grant bargain and sell to the said Thomas Fletcher 
one certain tract or parcel of land supposed to be thirty acres, more or less 
lying and being in the County of Halifax aforesaid on the east side of the 
road leading from Banister Bridge at Concord mills to Republican Grove and 
bounded by said road and the lands of William Watson Peter Rives (sic Reves) 
and the said Thomas Fletcher.  To have & to hold the above land and premises 
with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging clear of all incumbrances to 
him the said Thomas Fletcher his heirs and assigns forever and the said Peter 
Reves shall and will warrant and forever defend the right to the sd land & 
premises to the said Thomas Fletcher his heirs and assigns as witness whereof 
I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date first above written.

At a Court held for Halifax County the 23d day of Jany (year absent in 
original)
          The within written Indenture was presented in Court and acknowledged 
by the within named Peter Reves party therein to be his act and deed and 
ordered to be recorded as taken ~
