This Indenture made this tenth day of May in the (1826) of our Lord One 
thousand eight hundred and twenty Six between George Reves of the County of 
Stokes No. Carolina of the one part and John Tucker of Halifax State of 
Virginia of the other.  Witnesseth that the Said George Reves for and in 
consideration of the Sum one hundred dollars currant money of Virginia to 
him in hand paid by the Said John Tucker at or before the Sealing and 
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the Said George Reves doth 
hereby acknowledge and thereof doth fully acquit & discharge the Said John 
Tucker his heirs & executors etc he the Said George Reves hath given 
granted, bargained Sold enfeoffed and confirmed & by these presents do give 
grant bargain and Sell unto him the Said John Tucker his heirs and assigns 
forever one certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the 
County of Halifax on the waters of Childry Creek Containing by estimation 
fifty acres be the Same more or less and bounded as followeth Beginning at 
pointers on Land John Tucker ?? thence So 76° degrees west One hundred and 
eighty eight poles to a red oak thence So 81° east 201 poles to a red oak 
thence No 9° West eighty poles to the Beginning   To have and to hold the 
fifty acres of land aforesaid with the priviledges and appurtainances 
thereunto belonging unto him the Said John Tucker his heirs and assigns 
forever, and the Said George Reves for himself his heirs Exetors. Etc. the 
aforesaid fifty acres of land with the priviliges & appertainances unto him 
the Said John Tucker his heirs etc. will warrant and defend against the 
lawful claims or claims of any other person or persons Whatsoever.  In 
Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal the day and 
date first above written.

	Halifax County towit:  We John S Jennings & Peter Reves Magistrates 
for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that George Reves party to the 
within deed of Conveyance of real Estate bearing date the tenth of this 
present month May came before us in our Said County and acknowledged the 
Same to his hand and Seal act and deed and requested us to certify his 
acknowledgement aforesaid to the clerk of our Said County in order to be 
recorded  Given under our hands & Seals this the 13th day of May 1826
