Deed - Peter Reves to Charles Reves
Halifax County, Virginia
Deed Book 19, p. 411-412

This Indenture made this twenty 6th day of December in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and two between Peter Reves of the County of 
Halifax and State of Virginia of the one part and Charles Reves of the 
County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Peter 
Reves for and in consideration of the Sum of Sixty eight pounds Current 
money of Virginia to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged have granted bargained sold released Infeoffed (sic) and 
confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release Infeoff (sic) 
and confirm unto the said Charles Reves and to his heirs and assigns forever 
a certain tract or parcel of land Containing one hundred acres Situate lying 
and being in Halifax County on the waters of Runaway Creek & bounded as 
followeth.  Beginning at a pine corner to a tract of land belonging to 
Thomas Rash thence South Eighty seven degrees west one hundred and forty 
poles to pointers thence North thirty eight degrees East one hundred and 
ninety Six poles to a Small black oak thence North eighty five degrees East 
one hundred & Sixteen poles to pointers thence South forty one degrees West 
one hundred and Sixty four poles to small black Jack thence South thirty six 
degrees East twenty eight poles to the Beginning  Together with all woods 
ways profits Conveniences, hereditaments to the said tract of land with the 
appurtenances, belonging Contiguous or appertaining to the said tract of 
land unto the Said Charles Reves his heirs & assigns forever to his and 
there (sic) own proper use and no other use or purpose whatsoever and he the 
said Peter Reves for himself his heirs Executors and administrators do 
hereby covenant to and with the said Charles Reves that he the said Peter 
Reves will  maintain a good and sufficient right and title of in and to the 
said tract of land with the appurtainances (sic) unto the said Charles Reves 
his heirs and assigns for ever against the claim and demands of every Person 
or Persons whatsoever, he the said Peter Reves shall and will warrant and 
for ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Peter Reves 
have hereunto set his hand and seal this year & day above written.

At a Court held for Halifax County the 27th day of December 1802
	The within written Indenture was acknowledged by the within named 
Peter Reves party thereto to be his act and deed and ordered to be recorded.
