Page 433. May 9, 1786 from Thomas Turner, Champness Turner, Tandy Turner,
Francis Turner, Marah Turner and Elizabeth Turner, heirs and legatees of
John Turner, deceased, to Isham Turner, legatee of said John Turner,
deceased, for 180 pds, about 351 acres in Halifax Co. on Evans Creek, it
being the land conveyed in a former deed from William Bard, Esq. to said
John Turner deceased, and bequeathed in his will to be equally divided
between the above mentioned legatees.  Signed - Thomas (X his mark) Turner,
Champness Turner, Tandy Turner, Francis (X his mark) Turner, Mary (X her
mark) Turner, Elizabeth Turner.  Wit - George Wily, John Poyner, James
Chappell.  Recorded June 15, 1786.    (George Wiley and John Poyner owned
land on Evans Creek, and Winns Creek, south of Dan River)

(Submitter note: Is this the Champness Turner who married Elizabeth Wisdom 
before 1799?  She was the daughter of Thomas Wisdom and wife, Martha Lewis, 
who lived in Halifax Co., Va the few years before his death in 1780.  They 
had just moved to Caswell Co., NC when Thomas died and the Wisdom family 
were there for many years.  I'd love to know more of Elizabeth Wisdom Turner
