He was 68 years of age. Mr. Cassada was born in South Boston on August 18, 1930 the son of James Scott Cassada and Eva Preston Ingram Cassada and was married to Mary Johnson Cassada. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, was retired from Western Auto/True Value Store and was a member of The Better Breathers Group. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Eva Cassada and Thomas B. McLaughlin of Oxford, NC, and Susan Carol Cassada and Matthew H. Bassett of Indianapolis, IN; two grandsons, Neil Preston Cassada Bassett and Wilbur Hall McLaughlin; and one brother, Lawrence E. Cassada of Charlottesville. Mr. Chism was born in Halifax County on August 25, 1950 the son of Lucious Chism Jr. and Ida Frances Hudson Chism Mabry. He was married to Naomi Brandon Chism and a member of St. Luke Apostle Church. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Ashley Chism of South Boston; three sons, Avery Chism of Baltimore, MD, Dominic Chism and Deon Chism, both of South Boston; two grandchildren; his mother of South Boston; one sister, Zenobia Chism of Washington, DC; four brothers, William Chism of South Boston, James Chism of Durham, NC, Tommy Chism and Kerment Chism, both of Washington. Mrs. Talley was born in Richmond on June 19, 1946 the daughter of Oscar Rodgers Talley Jr. and Gertrude Goad Talley and was married to Larry Landrum. She was a member of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of New River Valley. She was a retired first grade teacher. OSCAR FREEMAN Oscar Freeman of Nathalie died Thursday, October 29, 1998 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was 94 years of age. Mr. Freeman was born in Halifax County on April 12, 1904. Survivors include one daughter, Vera Freeman of New York City, NY; three grandsons; one sister, Flossie Pratt of South Boston; one son-in-law, Nelson Harris. LARRY BRIAN DANIELS Larry Brian Daniels, 50, of 1208 Peach Avenue, South Boston died Saturday, October 31, 1998 in Halifax Regional Hospital. Mr. Daniels was born October 16, 1948 in Washington, DC the son of Miles D. 'Dan' and Dorothy E. Miller Daniels of Chambersburg, PA. He was employed by Georgia Pacific in Roxboro, NC and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he was the choir director and organist. He was a 1966 graduate of Wakefield High School in Arlington and a 1973 graduate of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Brian Glen Daniels of Java. MARY TRENT LIPSCOMB Mary Trent Lipscomb of South Boston died Friday, November 6, 1998 at The Woodview at the age of 92. Born in Charlotte County on December 5, 1905, Mrs. Lipscomb was the daughter of William Thomas Trent and Mary Roberts Jackson Trent. She was married to Harry Lipscomb and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of South Boston.
