in Halifax County, VA, dated November 30, 1813) 

""Know all men by these presents that we Robert Cobbs and Anderson Connally 
and John Cobbs are held and firmly bound unto HIS EXCELLENCY James 
*illegible* (Barber-Barbis?) Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia and to 
his successors, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to 
the use of the said Commonwealth; to the payment whereof, well and truly to 
be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, *illegible* jointly and severally, 
firmly by these presents sealed with our seals, and dated this 3oth day of 
November, 1813. 

The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas there is a 
marriage intended to be solemnized between the above bound John Cobbs and 
Frances Condly of this county: Now, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct 
the same, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force 
and virtue.
