Will of Thomas Bush, 1804 From Halifax County, Virginia Will Book 7 - Page 60 In the name of God, Amen. I, Thomas Bush of the County of Halifax and state of Virginia, being in a low state of health, but in perfect sence and memory, thanks be to the Almighty God, am calling to remembrance the uncertain state of this Transitory life, and that all flesh must yield unto Death when it shall please God to call, do make, constitute or ordain and declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following: First, I do leave one hundred acres of land to be laid of by Survey Joining Tyre O'Neale. William Carr, Elisha Albeth, and and George Burrows, to be sold by my executors to play a Debt due James Bruce. Then, I do lend the ballance of land, which is seventy-two acres and all my other Estate, to my wife Mary Bush during her natural life or widowhood and after her decd. or Marriage I do give it as follows: Next I do give and bequeath to Melkijah Bush the seventy-two acres of land above mentioned and me sorrel horse Colt bridle and saddle to he and his heirs froever. Item - I give and bequeath to Rachil Bush one Mar Colt and my new ride saddle bridle to she and her heirs forever. Item- I do leave all the rest of my Estate not yet mentioned to be equally Divided between William Bush, Francis Bush, Melkijah Bush, Betsey Bomar, Mary Cauthorn, Rachil Bush and Thomas B. Milner, to they and their heirs forever. Lastly I do ordain and constitute and appoint William Bush and my Wife Mary Bush Holey and solely executors of this my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and four- Thomas Bush - L.S.
